Following a full physical examination and discussion regarding the activities and lifestyle of your pet, we work with you to specifically formulate a wellness program that encompasses an immunization schedule (vaccines), blood profiles, and breed specific disease screening. We believe disease prevention and early diagnosis are paramount in improving your pet’s longevity, and we strive to provide the highest quality preventative care for your furry family members.

We provide diagnostic, wellness programs and a customized vaccination program for dogs, cats and ferrets. All adult pets of any companion animal species are encourage to have at a minimum an annual health check. This includes a detailed examination, fecal testing and further steps such as blood and urine testing. The goal is to help identify and address any problems in the early stages when symptoms are absent. A variance of normal may just need more frequent tracking. A simple dietary change, supplements and/or medication maybe all that is required to slow down. stop or even reverse pathology. An early diagnosis and appropriate treatments can extend lives, assure wellness  and result in your pet living a longer healthier life.

We always do our best to make this a low stress fun health experience.

Once your dog, cat, rabbit, ferret etc…. turns 7-8 years or an earlier age, we recommend that they undergo a thorough senior wellness examination and diagnostic work-up. Even though you may believe your pet is perfectly healthy, there are many disease processes that do not show any outward sign until the disease is quite advanced. Advanced diseases can be more difficult to treat and are not always as responsive to treatment as diseases diagnosed early.

Early detection of diseases such as kidney disease, thyroid disease, etc….. will allow us to administer the appropriate treatments to help extend your pet’s life.

Many symptoms that historically have been attributed to old age are treatable with very positive results. For example, some dogs that appear to have lost their mental alertness can be returned to a mental status indicative of a younger age using appropriate therapy. Please feel free to contact us to discuss our senior wellness program in more detail.
